The energy inside the Imperial Ballroom in the Amway Grand was electrifying like never before in the history of this former bank office turned hotel ballroom. Dynamic lighting, thumping soundscapes and a barrage of 500 strong party-goers woke the city up for one more evening of shaking and grooving.
There was a time when Grand Rapids was a 40-ounce beer kind of town. Not anymore. Times have definitely changed and the party hosted by the French champagne house, Louis Roederer, stamps the city's emergence as a cool place to be.
2010 has been a year to remember for GR and we've only entered the second quarter. The folks at the JW Marriott and the Amway Grand have more parties on the docket, with each party more unique than the last one. What's next GR?
